Hello! I am Anqi Zhao. I am dedicated to promoting policy, planning and design for sustainable urban form and transportation, urban public space, and social equity.
Growing up in a Metropolitan area in China, I have been hooked on active travel and vivid street life since walking and biking to school as a kid. Knowing each tree, alley, street vendor along that route, I feel strongly connected to my neighborhood. What I love most are the interrelationship between human beings and nature and the cultural exchange that occurs from people being face to face on public transits, walking and bicycling through the bustling city.
I just graduated from UC Irvine with Master’s Degree of Urban and Regional Planning.I specialize in transportation planning, healthy planning, anthropology field work, social science survey, data analysis, graphic representation, and spatial analysis using ArcGIS software.
I see research and practice related to the built environment, non-motorized travel, public health and social equity as my small way of contributing to the greater good of society and improving our ability to coexist with the nature.
